Let's Giddy Up and Read!!!!
Our equine assisted 501c3 offers a literacy promotion program for young readers where we bring our miniature horses and donkey to libraries and schools so that children can read to them. This unique experience is intended to build confidence in young readers because after all, a diminutive equine isn’t going to pass any judgement but will simply “listen.” We also work with speech therapists to help encourage language and oral speaking.
This program had been put on pause during the COVID-19 pandemic, but our founder, Terry Holmes-Stecyk, imagined creating the experience virtually through a video where young readers can read to her mini horses and donkey through the internet. Even though the restrictions are lifted, you can still practice your reading skills through this video. Our hope is this will continue to be enjoyed by home schooled children and all young readers everywhere.
It’s a 10 minute video so that the young readers have ample time to read to them, but it is an awesome video, if we do say so ourselves. Please enjoy!
And please share this direct website link, with friends, teachers, home school groups, libraries, learning centers, children’s clubs and organizations.
We'd love to have them enjoy it too!
